RVC FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions

River Valley Church is an exciting new Church in the Shreveport and Bossier City LA area. It is one of many of a new breed of Churches in America. Our goal is to communicate, simply and clearly, the message of Jesus Christ to people who are currently not connected with the Church. In so doing, we have dropped many of the forms of traditional Churches. What does this mean? Simply put: same message... new methods; traditional values... today's language.

What can I expect at River Valley Church?

You can expect a positive, upbeat worship experience. The atmosphere is casual and friendly. The music is modern and bright. The messages are practical and meaningful. Our weekend services are designed to bring a lift to every believer and unchurched person in attendance. Believers at RVC can feel confident in bringing those who are unchurched, without the concern of being embarrassed or offending someone with anything unusual or uncomfortable.

How can I get involved?

RVC offers a variety of ways to get connected: Our Guest Reception is an opportunity to chat with our pastor and  church leaders in an informal setting. It is held monthly. Our LifeSkills Workshops are held on an ongoing, rotating basis. They range from a Membership Workshop (outlining our ministry philosophy) , to a Discovery Workshop (designed to help you discover your God-given strengths), to a workshop designed to help you live out your faith contagiously. Small groups are a great way to meet new friends and grow in Christ... We have a variety of ministry teams which offer a chance to contribute hands-on as well as build great friendships in the process.

What kind of Church is RVC?

River Valley Church is an evangelical, all-denominational Church. We are a diverse family of believers united by a love for Jesus Christ and a desire to really know Him and bring Him glory with our lives. Think Billy Graham in blue jeans.

What will happen if I visit for the first time?

If you are visiting for the first time, we will not embarrass you, nor will we have you stand up, nor will we ask you to give money. Come in and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and see if this is the church for you.

What should I wear?

People wear everything from business suits to casual clothes. We understand that dressing up on Sunday morning can be a drag... especially if you have small children. So don't! The Bible says that people look at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart. Our church is not about what you look like nor about what you wear. We welcome everyone... just as you are. Wear your sandals... Jesus did.
